Cape Canaveral, FL - March will be a very active period at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Three different launch vehicles are scheduled to launch this month.

The Space Shuttle Discovery is scheduled to deliver electricity-generating solar panels to the International Space Station. An Atlas 5 is set to deliver a US Air Force satellite. And a pair of Delta 2s are scheduled to deliver a NASA satellite and a GPS satellite.
This is a rare event to have this many launches within a month. So if you haven’t seen a launch before or it’s been a while, this may be your best shot.

Grant, FL - The 43nd Annual Grant Seafood Festival has become the largest and longest running seafood festival in the Southeast and draws huge crowd every year with as many as 50,000 people for this two day event.
This year’s festival will be held February 28 - March 1, 2008 from 10 am - 7 pm Saturday and Sunday 10 am - 5 pm. The festival features free admission, free parking, over 100 craft exhibits, continuous live entertainment, along with a menu of delicious seafood.

Kennedy Space Center, FL - Framed by the backdrop of famous launch facilities, aerospace, aviation and astronauts will take to the skies for the second annual Space & Air Show at Kennedy Space Center featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels November 8-9, 2008. On the heels of the successful U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds performance of 2007, the 2008 show will include an expanded roster of aviation stars. Newly announced aerobatic acts scheduled to perform include Mike Goulian, sponsored by Castrol Oil and the Air Force Reserve Biplane Show. Also performing are the U.S. Navy Super Hornet Demo Team, the 920th Rescue Wing, U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet, the F-16 Viper East Demonstration and the A-10 Warthog.

Kennedy Space Center, FL - Celebrate the sounds of space exploration with music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s during the 2008 Fall Concert Series at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The concerts kick-off Saturday, October 18 with 80’s rock band Survivor, followed by The Guess Who and Rick Springfield. Backed by the iconic Rocket Garden, the live, festival style outdoor concert happens every Saturday for three weeks, October 18, 25, and November 1 as part of the NASA 50th anniversary celebration.

Grant, FL - Taste BBQ from Florida’s best teams as they compete for cash at the Grant BBQ Fest. Last years event was great and Timmy Vee will again host the annual food festival complete with live music. Categories include Chicken, Pork, Pork Ribs and Beef Brisket. The Grand Champion Prize is $1500 and $1000 for the Reserve Champion. Cash payouts run through 5th place for each category with trophies going to the winner of each. Proceeds will benefit Toys 4 Kids. The Grant BBQ Fest is an official State of Florida Championship Contest. The Grand Champion will receive an entry into the drawing for the Jack Daniels invitational.
