Christmas Boat Parades in Florida

November 28th, 2011

Christmas Boat Parade

Florida is a peninsula surrounded on three sides by water, our weather is warm and sunny so it only makes sense that we enjoy our boats all year round and Christmas is no different. When were done decking our halls we head straight out to our docks and deck our decks, hulls and string those masts with lights. Once they are twinkling from bow to stern we wait for Santa. But before he gets here we take our boats and show them off, boats parades take place all over Florida and are a great way for the whole family to get into the holiday spirit. Here’s our list of upcoming boat parades, find one in your area to enjoy.

Try a Florida Thanksgiving Vacation and Save with Hotel Deals

November 5th, 2009

Hotels along Clearwater Beach

Thanksgiving usually means getting together with family and friends, however last year our families were traveling out of state. So we went to Clearwater and stayed at a swank hotel and celebrated Thanksgiving at a trendy restaurant. It was so much more fun than hanging with the family and watching the Lions loose that we are looking for a way to do it again. Or maybe take the whole family on a Thanksgiving vacation and save money with Thanksgiving week hotel deals available through our exclusive travel partner Hotels.com.

Sea Gulls Verses Crab

April 21st, 2009

By Kirby Collins

Don't Taste Me Bro!

We recently visited Sarasota as part of our latest additions for PlacesAroundFlorida.com. While visiting Longboat Key we photographed this standoff between two seagulls and a medium sized land crab.

I Can Has Cheezeburger?

We didn’t interfere and watched as the seagulls eventually figured the crab was more trouble than it was worth.

No Pose For U!

Since the crab was exposed and away from his hole, we took the opportunity as he posed for a shot before he covered himself, then remained motionless until we left.
