Scarlett O’Hare’s Bar and Restaurant in St. Augustine Serves Up a Historic Dining Experience

November 12th, 2007

St. Augustine Historic District

By Kirby Collins

St. Augustine, FL – We recently traveled to St. Augustine to gather new content for PlacesAroundFlorida.com and took pictures galore. After an afternoon of wandering through the St. Augustine Historic District surrounded by many fine restaurants, we were starving.

We decided to try Scarlett O’Hare’s Bar and Restaurant. It was a great choice and with a unique decor and menu. We shared a Slab of Ribs and Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich, both were very tasty. For dessert we split a Key Lime Pie, it too was delicious.

They have a full liquor bar and we enjoyed cocktails named “The Scarlett O’Hare” in their “Ghost Bar”, which is listed in the National Directory of Haunted Places and is said to be haunted by the man who built the house. Visit their website at www.scarlettoharas.net.

Mulligan’s Beach House; A Restaurant in Downtown Jensen Beach

August 26th, 2007

Mulligan’s Beach Shack

By Kirby Collins

Jensen Beach, FL – Mulligan’s Beach House Bar and Grill is another great Florida restaurant located in Downtown Jensen Beach and across from the Intracoastal Waterway. Downtown Jensen is a great place to spend the day with shops, restaurants and night clubs just north of Stuart.

We shared the O’Mully Mahi Reuben sandwich and Fresh Catch Quesadilla again with Mahi Mahi. I ordered the Mahi Reuben without Thousand Island dressing as I have this thing about mayo and the like. They both were great and served with rice and french fries.

Mulligan’s Beach House has a full liquor bar and had a pretty good crowd the Saturday afternoon we visited. They feature live music on weekend nights and have plenty of seating.

Mulligan’s Beach House Bar and Grill is located at 2019 Jensen Beach Boulevard in Jensen Beach, FL.
