‘Guten Tag!’ That’s German for ‘hello,’ and this is the time of year when everyone becomes a little German; we polish up our steins and practice our German accents because its Oktoberfest time. Oktoberfest started as a celebration of the marriage of the German Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese and has subsequently become the largest people’s fair in the world. Folks from all over head to Germany this time of year to enjoy the food and the festivities, not to mention the beer. Here in Florida we love a good party too, and when you add some beer and a cute little barmaid, we’re there.

Spooky, FL – The wind picks up and starts to howl, cool air settles over the land, summer is definitely over. You shiver, but is it from the cold or is it because you realize Halloween is near? In Florida, from Pensacola to Key West, we are putting out our pumpkins, stuffing our ‘scaregulls’ and getting ready to party. We have many choices when it comes to celebrating Halloween.
