Café Tu Tu Tango – Tapas Food for the Starving Artist in All of Us
By Beverly Martinez-Collins – PlacesAroundFlorida.com
If you have a group of friends and you’re looking for something different in the vast choices of places to eat in Orlando there is one that offers a truly unique experience, Café Tu Tu Tango. The whole place is set up like a ‘starving artists’ studio, sometimes they even have an artist there working on an original piece. The walls are covered with art that’s all for sale, even the bar and tables are colorful.
If you interested in a different taste combination try the savory Shrimp and Kielbasa Skewers. They are marinated in pepper and serve with red beans and rice, a Cajun delight.
Certain nights they have different talent there to entertain their guests. This talent includes flamenco bands and dancers, a couple doing the tango, or some other exotic dance and if you’re feeling adventurous you can have a tarot card reading.
I say bring your friends because their entire menu, even dessert, is served tapas style, or appetizer-sized, meaning it’s meant for sharing; making it a great place to get together with friends.
They put a slight twist on their Calamari it’s served with artichoke hearts and olives in the mix, very tasty.
They have several flatbreads and pizzas that are all very good and again, big enough to share.
Pork Cuba Libre is a favorite and it’s no wonder the rum coca cola and lime marinated that gives it the name Cube Libre also makes it delicious.
The Grilled Guava BBQ Glazed Pork Ribs are served with a refreshing cucumber sonomono salad.
Bacon Wrapped Shrimp is a tasty delight the whole table will enjoy.
If you like steak you’ll enjoy the Oriental Marinated Steak Skewers so tender they fall off the skewers they are served with a delicious, slightly spicy ginger-soy aioli.
The Crème Brulee is big enough to share but so good you won’t want to.
As you can see their menu offers a great variety; between that and the ‘enough to share’ tapas style this is truly a place for good friends and great food, and who knows you may even head home with your new favorite piece of art, a great bonus.
