Biketoberfest 2011 - Bikers on Main Street

Daytona Beach, FLBiketoberfest 2011 is in the books for this year and I must say it was awesome. The weather was near perfect and the crowd was the largest we’ve seen in recent years. Dirty Harry’s rocked it once more with their wet t-shirt contests, and give a ways. The Banker and Blues club had some cool bands playin’ hot tunes; the Dog House was the place to be for heavy metal and their famous dancing on the bar, bartending girls really got the crowd going. On Main Street bikes and beer booths lined the way and the International Speedway delivered again this year with some great races, bands and deals. The food was fabulous and the merchandise was flying off the racks. Daytona Beach, as always, was a gracious host city and everyone felt welcomed.

Bikes and Riders

Biketoberfest 2011 - Nice Chopper

Biketoberfest, and Bike Week for that matter, offers the chance to see some unique bikes and the unique individuals on them. Literally thousands of bikes of every shape and size can be seen parading up and down and parked along Main Street. This year the biggest new thing was LED ground effect lighting, some popular colors were blue and green but there were some that changed colors, blue to green to purple and so on, these were my favorite. Speaking of colors changing it was nice to see t-shirts designed in more colors than just black and more designs available for women. Every year it seems we see more women riders and this year it was a more diverse group across the board, which was great to see period.

Bar & Beer Girls

Biketoberfest 2011 - Beautiful Bar Girl at Dirty Harry's

A popular Biktoberfest sight are the beer booths beautiful bar girls, these booths are scattered all over the event and are one of the few things that can distract one from looking at the bikes. Off the main street, the Dog House was rockin’ as the bartending girls took to the bar tops and danced all over them again this year; they have some coordinated routines that are really great to watch. Cold beer and booze served by hot girls and awesome music kept the party going all day and long into the night.

Twisted Tea Girls

Biketoberfest 2011 - Twisted Tea Girls

The drink of choice this year at Dirty Harry’s was the Original Twisted Tea Hard Iced Tea. I had a few, they were great but dangerous because they taste so good you don’t realize how much you are drinking and they are 5% alcohol by volume. The Twisted Tea girls were hot too, they were working the crowd, giving away drinks, bandannas and shooting t-shirts out to courtyard, needless to say this new sponsor was very well received.

Wet T-Shirt Contest

Biketoberfest 2011 - Splash

There’s only one thing to be said about the wet t-shirt contests held in the Outback at Dirty Harry’s during Biktoberfest, they do them right. All day long throughout the weekend girls take the stage for the chance to win cash and enjoy their 15 minutes of fame. These contests are hosted by the amusingly irreverent ‘Cowboy’, one thing he does before each show that I really like is his salute to the troops, we all drink a toast to them and Amazing Grace, the hard rock version of course, is played. It’s a little moment of the serious before the fun begins and the crowds always love it.
