Florida July 4th Fireworks Celebrations

Independence Day Fireworks

Grab your sunglasses and beach blanket and plan your trip to Florida now because nobody celebrates our nation’s birthday like we do in the Sunshine State. From the Panhandle to the Florida Keys and everywhere in between cities and towns will be celebrating with a day of family fun topped off with fabulous fireworks displays. Check out these events to find one near you.

Orlando and Central Florida Fireworks

Red Hot & Boom in Altamonte Springs – Altamonte Springs and Crane’s Roost Park invite you to celebrate with them as they present their 15th annual Independence Day. Join the Celebration, Friday July 3rd from 4 pm – 11 pm. Come enjoy live entertainment, vendor booths, food, drinks and activities for the kids. The night will climax at 9:30pm with a fireworks display set to a mix of patriotic music and the latest musical hits. Admission is free, no coolers, pets or personal fireworks allowed. Fireworks at the Fountain at Lake Eola Park – The Mayor welcomes you to the newly refurbished fountain as the skies above Orlando light up in red white and blue for this year’s event that will take place from 4 pm – 10 pm on Sunday July 4th. It will feature live musical entertainment and many delicious foods and includes an area set up just for the kids to enjoy. The finale fireworks will start after 9 pm. View website »

Titusville – Red, White and Boom will be held again this year at Space Coast Regional Airport from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. There will be food, children’s activities, live music and a spectacular fireworks show, there will also be several aircraft on display. View website »

Cocoa Beach – Will be having a fireworks display kicking off on Sunday July 4th after dark from a barge anchored off the coast from Shepard Park.

Historic Cocoa Village – Come celebrate the July 4th Celebration at Cocoa Village Riverfront Park Amphitheatre from 8 pm – 10 pm on July 4. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the Brevard Symphony Orchestra as it performs patriotic music while fireworks go off. The show is scheduled to begin at 9:15 pm; there will be a food court and fun for the kiddies. Admission is free. View website »

Daytona Beach – Dirty Harry’s will be sponsoring several events over the 4th of July Weekend. Saturday, July 3rd the Razorbacks will be performing from 9:30 pm – 1:30 am at the Bank & Blues Club then on Sunday July 4th they’ll be having a free BBQ from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm there where the Razorbacks will again be performing.

The Main Street Pier will be having fireworks displays both Saturday and Sunday at 9:45 pm. Dirty Harry’s Pub itself will be hosting a Fireworks Party Sunday, July 4th from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. View website »

Once again the Daytona International Speedway will run the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola. This is a 160 lap, 400 mile race scheduled to be run Jul 03 starting at 7:30 pm. There will be fireworks after the race and a prerace concert featuring Darius Rucker. View website »

Winter Springs – Celebration of Freedom at Central Winds Park from 5:00 pm-9:30 pm, Sunday July 4th. Bring the family and spend the day enjoying live music, great food, kids’ games, contests, activities and an awesome fireworks display over Lake Jesup. Celebration – Celebration Town Center will be having ‘A Flashback 4th of July’ with an All-American Sock Hop, tribute to the 1950′s from 5:30 pm -11:00 pm. This event will feature a 50′s costume contest and concerts by some of the world’s most famous tribute artists, the fireworks spectacular will be set to some of the 50′s best loved music and there will be plenty of dancing! Sanford – Red, White and Zoo, celebrate Independence Day with “Red, White & Zoo!” on July 3 & 4 with live music, games, food, children’s crafts, face painting, waterslide zoo animal encounters and a watermelon eating contest. This event is scheduled 9:00 am – 3:00 pm on both days. View website »

Kissimmee – The City of Kissimmee invites you to Kissimmee Lakefront Park for their Independence Day Celebration, one of the most popular annual events in Osceola County, it attracts more than 45,000 people. There will be live entertainment, a food court, beer garden and dunk tank. For the kids they’ll have bounce houses, patriotic crafts and free snow-cones. For the adults there will be karaoke, bingo and a water-ski show. The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 4 from 5:00 pm – 9:30 pm and will end with an impressive fireworks show that will be displayed above Big Lake Toho beginning at approximately 9:10 pm. Melbourne – Saturday, July 3, The City of Melbourne will co-sponsors an Independence Day parade presented by Honor America Inc. in Historic Downtown Melbourne at 11 a.m. The parade is to begin near the railroad tracks and then head westward on New Haven Avenue to Oak Street, then northward to Honor America’s Liberty Bell Museum. On Sunday City of Melbourne will present an Independence Day Fireworks display at 9 p.m., over the Indian River Lagoon at Claude Edge Front Street Park, just north of the Melbourne Causeway. No daytime activities are planned at the park. Tampa – At the Florida Aquarium this 4th of July, check out the best spot for watching Tampa’s fireworks over the Channel! The Florida Aquarium is extending hours until 9:30 pm and lowering the admission price to $10 after 3 pm. (members are still free). Explore A Shore will remain open, as will the Cantina, for guests to enjoy until shortly before the fireworks start at 9 p.m. Looking for something unusual? Experience the fireworks spectacular over the Channel from The Florida Aquarium’s Bay Spirit II! This brand new 72-foot-long, powered catamaran has a spacious air-conditioned lower deck with large viewing windows, bar and seating, plus a 2nd floor covered, open-air deck with excellent viewing of the fireworks and sunset. It departs the Aquarium at 7:30 pm for a sunset cruise and returns to the Channel for the most amazing view of fireworks – boat side! Enjoy hors d’ouvres, open bar for beer and wine and cash bar for mixed drinks. Sanibel & Captiva Islands – There will be a 4th of July parade starting at 9:30 am on Saturday, July 3rd then the fireworks display will be on Sunday July 4th and begin at dusk. View website »

Walt Disney World Theme Parks

The spirit of the Fourth of July is up in the air after dark, and three Disney parks will be making a bang, with Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios presenting special pyrotechnics and Epcot adding a patriotic “tag” to its famous “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” spectacular.

South Florida Fireworks

Miami – Bayfront Park will celebrate the birth of our great nation on Sunday July 4 with one of the largest fireworks displays in South Florida, it can be seen from anywhere in the park. Come enjoy food and beverages, and a free kids’ zone, fun for the whole family. The park is open all day, the kids Zone will be open from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm and the fireworks start at 9:00pm. Miami Beach – An American Celebration, The City of Miami Beach proudly presents its annual Fourth of July patriotic celebration of music and fireworks. Staring at 7:30 PM, Sunday July 4th, this music will bring the crowd to its feet the fireworks will start at nightfall. Everyone is encouraged to get there early, bring beach chairs and towels. West Palm Beach – This year’s 4th On FLAGLER 2010 will be held on Sunday, July 4th starting at 5:00 pm. There will be 50 American flags waving proudly along the waterfront on Flagler Drive in Downtown West Palm Beach. There will be food, fun and live music all night. Fort Lauderdale Beach – The City of Fort Lauderdale invites residents and visitors to celebrate America’s Independence Day with a free celebration on Fort Lauderdale Beach from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm on Sunday, July 4, 2010. The festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. on the beach across from the Oasis Café. A DJ will host interactive games and contests for children of all ages, including a water balloon toss and a hula-hoop competition starting at 1:00pm. Local station Coast 97.3 FM will be providing music from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm and there will be live music on stage from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Florida Keys Fireworks, Parades and More

There will be plenty to enjoy if you’re planning to spend your 4th of July in the Florida Keys this year. There is a lot going on from Key Largo to Key West and all mile markers in between.

Blackwater Sound is always a favorite place to watch the fireworks in Key Largo and this year will be no different. Join your friends right on the bayfront or at Sundowners, Senior Frijoles restaurants or the Caribbean Club, all located around mile marker MM 104. Several places in the Keys will be having parades to celebrate the 4th these include Key Largo and Marathon. If you prefer getting physical on your 4th Key Largo and Key West are having 5k run/walks for those interested. If a nice relaxing picnic is more you style pack up the family and a basket and head to Founders Park, on Plantation Key or Casa Marina Resort & Beach Club in Key West for the day. Of course there will be live music, things just for the kiddies, food, fun and tropical drinks everywhere, and then after the sun goes down spectacular fireworks displays will light up the night sky, most are scheduled to start after 9 pm.

North Florida Fireworks

St. Augustine – Fireworks Over The Matanzas, the City of St. Augustine’s 4th of July Celebration will take place Sunday July 4 th from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. From 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm The All Star Orchestra, returns to the Plaza de la Constitución for a two-hour show filled with Big Band and Swing music along with all the traditional patriotic favorites, the concert is free. Fireworks start at 9:30 pm over the Matanzas Bay between the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and the Bridge of Lions. The 20-minute display will be tightly choreographed to a stirring soundtrack of great popular music. View website »

Jacksonville – Happy Birthday, America! This star-spangled celebration begins at 9:45 pm on the downtown riverfront and features the First Coast’s most spectacular fireworks display over the St. Johns River. River barges will be in front of The Jacksonville Landing and the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront Hotel with strobes on both sides of the Main Street Bridge and the east side of the Acosta Bridge , the show can be seen either bank of the St. Johns River. Madison County Events – God & Country Independence Day Celebration will be held on Saturday July 3rd from 5:00 pm-10:30 pm. There will be Food, Fun and Fireworks with the beautiful backdrop of Lake Frances. Panhandle Fireworks

Destin – The Village of Baytowne Wharf invites you to their Red, White & Baytowne celebration over the 4th of July weekend. Come enjoy a day of fun in the sun, with a Village of kid’s activities from 6-10pm, including kids’ crafts, face painting, and balloon sculpting. Their house band Coconut Radio will take the stage from 6-9pm so Grab your boogie shoes and join in the fun. Pensacola Beach – Sertoma’s 4th of July Celebration, on Sunday July 4th, is a family oriented, patriotic celebration and is the largest 4th of July celebration on the Gulf Coast. The daylong activities feature a large children’s area with activities culminating in a huge fireworks display over Pensacola Bay. Activities begin at 11:00 am and the fireworks start at 9:00 pm.
