This year the party’s back on for the Fourth of July in Florida. Last summer the country was dealing with $4.00 a gallon gas, this year we’re a little more optimistic and gas prices are lower. So let the fun resume and Celebrate America. Get ready to “pop off” a little Independence, grab your blankets, flags, family and friends and head on out to one of these spots and celebrate the United States of America.

Orlando and Central Florida Fireworks

Red Hot & Boom in Altamonte Springs – Altamonte Springs and Crane’s Roost Park invite you to celebrate with them as they present their 14th annual Independence Day. Join the Celebration, Friday July 3rd from 4 pm- 11 pm. Come enjoy live entertainment, vendor booth’s, food, drinks and activities for the kids. The night will climax in a 25 minute fireworks display set to a mix of patriotic music and the latest musical hits.

Fireworks at the Fountain at Lake Eola Park – The Mayor will welcome you as the skies above Orlando light up in red white and blue for this year’s event that will take place from 6 PM – 10 PM on Friday July 4th. It will feature live musical entertainment and many delicious foods and includes an appearance by the Orlando Concert Band.

Cocoa Beach – The fireworks show will go on at Shepard Park this July 4 after a hiatus last year. The Cocoa Beach show will take place from a barge anchored a safe distance from the beach. The Cocoa Beach Pier is a great place to watch the show as well the beaches to the north in Cape Canaveral.

Historic Cocoa Village – Come celebrate the July 4th Celebration at Cocoa Village Riverfront Park Amphitheatre at 8 pm on July 4. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the Brevard Symphony Orchestra as it performs patriotic music while fireworks go off. The show is scheduled to begin at 9:15 pm, there will be a food court and fun for the kiddies.

Daytona Beach – Daytona Beach Main Street July 4th Block Party and Barbecue is an 8-block long party with a summer barbecue theme. The event will be held from 6 pm until midnight with fireworks at 9:30 pm and includes live music, food vendors and a kids zone.

What would the 4th of July in Daytona be without a race? So here you are: The Coke Zero 400 at Daytona is a 160 lap, 400 miles NASCARSprint Cup Seriesstock car race at Daytona International Speedway scheduled to take place July 2 – 4, 2009.

Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration in Kissimmee – Touted as the largest 4th of July event in Central Florida, come join an estimated 35,000 to 45,000 of your closest friends for this night of family friendly fun. The City of Kissimmee will be your host at this annual Independence Day celebration on Friday, July 4 at Kissimmee Lakefront Park from 5 pm to 9:30 pm there will be live entertainment on various outdoor stages, karaoke, street performers, arts and crafts, bingo, a food festival, water-ski show and a spectacular fireworks display above Big Lake Toho. Fireworks at Central Florida Theme Parks

Busch Gardens – Independence Day weekend explodes with a pair of performances at Busch Gardens. On July 3, it’s legendary teen heartthrob David Cassidy. From “The Partridge Family” fame to his 18 gold and platinum recordings, Cassidy has had numerous hits throughout the decades, including “I Write the Songs,” “Lyin’ to Myself” and “I Think I Love You.” July 4, former Starship lead singer, Mickey Thomas, rocks Busch Gardens in a special Independence Day celebration, followed by a fireworks finale.

Guests celebrating the Fourth of July at Walt Disney World Resort will have a choice of fireworks shows as Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios present special pyrotechnics and Epcot adds a patriotic “tag” to its famous “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” spectacular. Here’s what’s in store:

Magic Kingdom – “Celebrate America Fireworks” will fill the sky at 9 pm. July 4 (guests who’d like to begin the celebratory weekend a day early can enjoy the special fireworks on July 3 at 9 p.m.). After the fireworks, guests can enjoy a performance of Disney’s “SpectroMagic” parade of lights, music and magic at 10:30 p.m. on July 3-4. Park hours are 9 a.m.-11 p.m. on July 3-4.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Special fireworks will be presented at 10 p.m. on July 4, providing guests with a bonus nighttime entertainment extravaganza to complement “Fantasmic!” (which will be at 9 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.). Park hours on July 4 are 9 a.m.-10 p.m.

Epcot – “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth,” which features dazzling special effects, colorful lasers, brilliant fireworks and fiery torches all choreographed to a musical score, becomes even more dynamic on July 4 as the normal show is supplemented with a patriotic finale. The performance begins at 10 p.m. Park hours on July 4 are 9 a.m.-10 p.m.

Tampa – At the Florida Aquarium this 4th of July, check out the best spot for watching Tampa’s fireworks over the Channel! The Florida Aquarium is extending hours until 9:30 p.m. AND lowering our admission price to $10 after 3 p.m. (members are still free). Explore A Shore will remain open, as will the Cantina, for guests to enjoy until shortly before the fireworks start at 9 p.m.

Looking for something unusual? Experience the fireworks spectacular over the Channel from The Florida Aquarium’s Bay Spirit II! This brand new 72-foot-long, powered catamaran has a spacious air-conditioned lower deck with large viewing windows, bar and seating, plus a 2nd floor covered, open-air deck with excellent viewing of the fireworks and sunset. It departs the Aquarium at 7:30 p.m. for a sunset cruise and returns to the Channel for the most amazing view of fireworks – boat side! Enjoy hors d’ouvres, open bar for beer and wine and cash bar for mixed drinks. Tickets are $50 per person ($45 for Members) and include Aquarium admission/parking, food , beer, wine and great seats for the fireworks. Cruise is aproximately 2-hours long.

South Florida Fireworks

Miami – Come enjoy the sights and sounds of American patriotism from 1 pm – 10 pm Saturday July 4 at Amelia Earhart Park. The Miami-Dade Parks Annual Independence Day celebration will feature concerts, food and beverages. You can also enjoy all of the fun things the park offers all year long like a mountain bike trail, the Bill Graham Farm Village, paddle boat rides, a dog park and more. You should bring a lawn chair or blanket so you can enjoy the spectacular fireworks display will end evening.

West Palm Beach – This year’s 4th On FLAGLER 2009 will be held on Saturday, July 4th from 5 pm to 10 pm along the waterfront on Flagler Drive in Downtown West Palm Beach, with the National City Fireworks Show taking place at 9 pm. There will be three stages of non-stop entertainment, food and refreshments, a kid’s area and the unfurling of a giant American Flag, the Firefighters’ Splash and Dash, and a spectacular fireworks extravaganza to end the night.

St. Augustine’s Fourth of July Celebration – You’ll have a blast at one of the East Coast’s largest fireworks shows as the showy displays burst above the ancient Castillo de San Marcos Fort and reflect in the waters of Matanzas Bay. Come early to the 9:30pm fireworks for the best vantage points located along the bayfront between the Castillo and the Bridge of Lions.

Panhandle Fireworks

Destin – Destin made the list on Priceline.com 6th annual survey of the 50 most-popular destinations for the upcoming Independence Day weekend. A feat for a smaller destination when compared with most of the other destinations on the list, including New Orleans, Las Vegas, Chicago, and New York City.

At Red, White & Baytowne, travel through the village and experience the sights and sounds of the 4th of July. Destin will host a variety of free children’s activities on Saturday. Conquer the Roaring River Slide from 10 am-10 pm. We will have a Village of kids activites in the evening from 6-10 pm, including kids’ crafts, facepainting and a visit from Betsy Ross. On Saturday at 9:15 pm, the Village of Baytowne Wharf presents a magical fireworks extravaganza illuminating the skies to celebrate our country’s Independence Day.

Panama City Beach – Celebrate the red, white and blue on Historic Grand Lagoon. This year, for the first time EVER, the 4th of July fireworks will go off over the Lagoon… so come claim your waterfront spot on the docks to watch the spectacular show above or, come by boat. There has never been a show like this before! Special events are also planned at Pier Park. The family fun will include free concerts, contests and, of course, fireworks! The mayor will kick off the festivities, followed by an F-15 flyover. There will be hot dog eating, wing eating and watermelon seed spitting contests. Nine bands will be spread throughout the property, with country music star Mark Chesnutt scheduled to headline at the Pier Park Amphitheatre. Admission is free and open to the public, the festivities are from noon to 9 pm.

Pensacola Beach – KABOOM is Pensacola Beach’s 3 day celebration of the 4th of July. Set to start at 3 pm on Friday with free live music at the Gulfside Pavilion. From 6 pm to 8 pm Dave Tucker and the DMT’s will perform at the Shell on the Portofino Boardwalk and U.A.G. Band (reggae) will play at the Gulfside Pavilion.

Saturday July 4th is a day of family fun. The Gulf Side Pavilion will have live music by Richard Bowen from 3 pm until 6 pm followed by The Slammers. “The Shell” on the Portofino Boardwalk will feature the U.A.G. Band from 6 pm until the fireworks begin. Kaboom— is one of the biggest, best fireworks displays on the coast and will take place over Santa Rosa Sound and start at 9pm. The three day event concludes Sunday July 5th with more live music at the Gulfside Pavilion from 3 pm to 9 pm and Joe Occhipinti playing Jazz from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Quietwater
Shell.
