Jupiter, FL – Florida’s premiere fine arts festival, ArtiGras, produced by the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, will be returning to Abacoa in Jupiter during Presidents’ Day Weekend — February 14, 15, and 16, 2009.
Celebrating its 24th year, ArtiGras is an outdoor arts event showcasing a juried exhibition of outstanding fine art and crafts, and featuring activities which include live entertainment, artist demonstrations, children’s interactive art activities, celebrity art auction and a youth art competition. Listed as one of the top 50 festivals in the country, ArtiGras 2009 expects more than 150,000 guests over the three-day holiday weekend.
Highlights of the festival include the Fine Arts Area, which features gallery quality work from more than 300 artists exhibiting a variety of styles in a multitude of different mediums including glass, photography, jewelry, painting, sculpture, wood, fiber, mixed media, ceramic and drawing. Winners of the juried exhibition will receive over $22,000 in prize money. The festival’s popular Garden Art Area will be returning featuring fine craft items for the home, garden and children. Also making a return engagement to ArtiGras will be the Artist Demonstration Stage where patrons watch and learn from artists demonstrating their outstanding skills.
Last year, ArtiGras added a Homegrown Artist area and this year they are adding a Cultural Corner where emerging artists with a Hispanic background will be able to show off their art and learn how to present themselves at an arts festival.
