It’s the Christmas season again and here in Florida Santa does things a little differently, instead of a using a sleigh, Santa takes to the waters and arrives by boat. And it’s no wonder with all the boat parades going on they are ‘decked’ out in their holiday best everything from traditional lights and greenery to off beat themed decorations. If you’d like to see the parades for yourself or with your family they can be viewed from shore, on bridges, or from other boats in the water. We have a list of some upcoming boat parades you can check out this year.
The 22nd Annual Destin Boat Parade
A family oriented activity for the holidays on December 14th. With Santa Claus and reindeer, Christmas trees and bright lights, everyone will enjoy the spectacular decorations used to get boats into the spirit of the holidays during the parade. Holiday Boat Parade on Blackwater Sound
Decorations, music and animations are to entertain holiday celebrants during the holiday boat parade on Blackwater Sound. Best viewing and libations are to be found at Sundowners, Senior Frijoles, the Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort and Caribbean Club, all near MM 103-104. Key Colony Beach Lighted Boat Parade
Christmas lights on outriggers and displays on boat decks are part of the beautiful festivities at the Key Colony Beach Boat Parade, set to begin at the 7th Street canal. The parade route visits canals and cuts, and passes city hall three times. Great viewing spots include Sadowski Causeway at MM 53.5 and the area behind city hall. Schooner Wharf/Captian Morgan Lighted Boat Parade
From rowboats to tall ships every boat will be lighted and decorated for the holidays the route will be around Key West’s Historic Seaport and harbor areas. Prior to the boat parade, on Saturday, Dec.13th, 8 p.m. The Gerald Adams Elementary School Steel Your Heart Band will welcome spectators with songs of the season. Spectators can watch from bars, restaurants and resorts in and around the Historic Seaport. Contact: (305) 292-3302.
Venice Christmas Boat Parade

Boot Key Harbor Boat Parade in the Florida Keys
On December 6th (this date is unconfirmed) starts at 6 p.m. with the best viewing along the waterfront of Sombrero Boulevard and the Boot Key Harbor bridge. Contact (305) 743-5417
The St. Lucie County 19th Annual Boat Parade & Festival
Starting at 4:00pm until 9:00pm on December 13th. The Winter Festival sponsored by the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce at South Causeway Island Park – bring the entire family to view light and decorations of the parade.
