Skimboarding at Sebastian Inlet Video

July 18th, 2007

By Kirby Collins

Sebastian Inlet, FL – Sebastian Inlet is well known for surfing but when the waves are small, some surfers break out the skimboards. Last weekend while visiting the Inlet, I shot this video.

I grew up in South Florida during the 70′s and because of the lack of waves I did a fair amount of skimboarding, then most of our skimboards were round and made of plywood. Today’s skimboards are manufactured from a wide variety composite material, and the skimboarders are much better too. I’m thinking next weekend of borrowing my nephew’s skimboard and give it a try, don’t worry I wont be posting any video of me busting my ass.
